June IND release is a ‘best albums of 2019’ pick in USA TODAY Network’s year-end music survey

Two shots of optimism are most welcome today, especially from Lafayette, Indiana rock duo June IND. The band consisting of decades-long friends and music collaborators Chris June and Emily Larimer recently released “First Annual Meeting of Optimists Vols. 1 and 2,” two EPs recorded at a time when you could do that without trepidation. Under the guidance of Dan Precision (Rise Against, 88 Fingers Louie, The Mound Builders) at The Bomb Shelter Recording Studio in Chicago, June IND’s newest batch of anthemic tunes explode with captivating hooks and tightly harmonized vocals.

June IND’s First Annual Meeting of Optimists Vol. 1 is a ‘best albums of 2019’ pick in USA TODAY Network’s year-end music survey.

According to an article published by IndyStar, the survey’s roster of voters includes representatives of USA TODAY as well as newspapers in iconic music cities Nashville, Memphis, Asbury Park, New Jersey; and Coachella festival site Palm Springs, California. Thirty entertainment reporters selected 152 albums for Top 10 lists compiled in the survey.

June IND shares the #85 spot with Kevin Abstract, Cage the Elephant, Crumb, Dreamville, Duckwrth, Luis Fonsi, Liam Gallagher, Vince Gill, Guided By Voices, Beth Gibbons & the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra, M83, Cass McCombs, Midland, The Minus 5, Kevin Morby, Kim Petras, Rapsody, Ed Sheeran, The Specials, White Reaper and The Young Debussy.

First Annual Meeting of Optimists Vol. 1 is one of four ‘self-released’ albums to make the ‘best albums of 2019’ list.
