The next Bandcamp Friday is August 7 from midnight to midnight PDT (that’s 3:00 a.m. to 3:00 a.m. for folks on eastern time). Bandcamp is waiving their commission fees, so everything you spend on our June IND page comes to us… and we’re giving it all to the Songwriters Association of Mid-North Indiana (SAMI) as part of our #philanthrocky campaign for American Artist Appreciation Month.

About June IND

Two shots of optimism are most welcome today, especially from Lafayette rock duo June IND. The band consisting of decades-long friends and collaborators Chris June and Emily Larimer recently released “First Annual Meeting of Optimists Vols. 1 and 2,” two EPs recorded at a time when you could do that without trepidation. Under the guidance of Dan Precision (Rise Against, 88 Fingers Louie, The Mound Builders) at The Bomb Shelter Recording Studio in Chicago, June IND’s newest batch of anthemic tunes explode with captivating hooks and tightly harmonized vocals. June IND announces #philanthrocky initiative to support area non-profits

Between spending more time with their growing families, heavier day job workloads and COVID-19 evasion efforts, June IND bandmates Chris June and Emily Larimer have watched their weekend warrior status diminish to zero (for now). After releasing two new EP’s over the last year and watching them collect dust, the Lafayette rock duo is launching the #philanthrocky initiative to support Greater Lafayette area non-profits and make their music work for the community.

Each month through July 2021, all revenue from the June IND’s music streams and sales will be given to a Greater Lafayette area organization addressing issues related to arts access, diversity, education, the environment, equality, homelessness, human rights, hunger, or social justice. Beneficiaries will be identified by causes linked to various awareness months throughout the year.

Aligning with American Artist Appreciation Month, the #philanthrocky beneficiary for August 2020 is the Songwriters Association of Mid-North Indiana (SAMI). Through various programs including workshops, showcases, monthly meetings, scholarships and the new Rec Room Recording studio, SAMI promotes education, encouragement, networking and development of songwriters in mid-north Indiana.

Join June IND’s effort to help SAMI help songwriters:

Details on additional non-profit beneficiaries and further efforts and events to support them will be forthcoming. For more information, message June IND on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.

Thanks for supporting social justice

Family, Fans, Friends and Neighbors,

Thank you for participating in our Juneteenth music fundraiser for social justice.

Together, we were able to raise more than $100.00 through digital music sales to support SURJ Greater Lafayette and their efforts to promote racial equality in our community. We look forward to making our deposits into The Collective’s REplenish Fund soon.

If you missed the chance to participate, you can still make contributions:
