June IND surprised when delivery man doesn’t burst into flames
New CD #HillsterHipbilly arrives, Carnahan Hall release show October 2nd

LAFAYETTE, INDIANA — Recorded in places hit by a tornado, that have caught fire, and that were relocated due to divorce, singer/guitarist Chris June had his camera app loaded as the delivery guy approached his Lafayette home with a box of CDs.

“Thankfully, he made it out alive, but he may have caught fire on the original delivery date, instead,” says June.

#HillsterHipbilly, the new CD from local rock band June IND was supposed to be delivered on Friday. It was also supposed to be released any time between now and the three-year-minefield that has elapsed since the group anticipated it going public.

“We (June and drummer Emily Larimer and bassist Drew Luigs) are far from superstitious, but in order to keep a clear conscience, we started warning people that had interest in working on the project,” says June.

Now that people can hold a copy in their hands and blast it on their stereos, the members of June IND are offering a different warning. “The release show at Carnahan Hall is going to be a riot,” says Luigs. “A good-time-kind-of-riot,” Larimer adds.

The official release show will be Friday, October 2nd at Carnahan Hall (800 Main Street) in Downtown Lafayette. June IND will be joined by bands/friends The Clutter (Lafayette) and iamlion (Indianapolis). Work from CD Art Designer Rikx (Rikx.com) and CD Photographer Dave Mason (ISPhotographic) will be on display. Citizens for Civil Rights will be on hand to register voters. $5.00 Hipbilly Drink specials (PBR + a shot of Rye Whiskey) will be available during the show.

The first 50 people through the door will receive a complimentary copy of June IND’s #HillsterHipbilly. After that, folks will have to wait for future shows to have a chance of getting it. #HillsterHipbilly CDs will not be available for sale nor will the music be streaming online. RSVP
